Leigh Thomas erneut zu Gast im il giardino Yogastudio
vom 14.12.24. bis 18.12.24

Born of mixed cultures and traditions, Leigh has always sought deeper truths about himself and the world around him. Vintage yoga books lay scattered around his home in a time when yoga was an exotic curiosity rather than the lifestyle choice it has become today.

At around six or seven years old, Leigh encountered his first lesson in breathwork in an unusual way. His kindergarten teacher, with a hint of severity, would make the children hold their breath—a punishment that others found unsettling, yet one that Leigh found strangely fascinating. This experience left a lasting impression, becoming his unplanned introduction to pranayama, the art of breath.

As he grew, Leigh stumbled upon a copy of Light on Yoga at a local bookshop—a timeless guide to modern yoga in the West. Over time, he would study and re-purchase this book multiple times, each page deeply worn with insight. The foreword by Yehudi Menuhin inspired him to weave together music and a dedicated yoga practice, a harmonious blend that has been the foundation of his life.

The philosophies of Socrates, Gandhi, Tolstoy, and poets across the ages helped him find grounding and clarity, giving shape to his worldview. After moving to Berlin in 2007, Leigh’s journey led him through Bikram Yoga and Ashtanga traditions, eventually arriving at the Jivamukti school. Here, music and movement became deeply entwined, and in 2018, he embraced the next step: teacher training.

Today, Leigh is a full-time composer and musician, merging music and yoga—sometimes as two distinct paths, other times as one seamless journey. In his classes and in his life, he continues to explore the interplay of sound and stillness, breath and rhythm, cultivating a space where art and awareness coexist.

Leigh’s classes are held in English, however we encourage you to join even with basic knowledge in English language, you will manage!
